Measurement Technician

Measurement Technician

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter who believes in technology and willing to accept responsibility and accountability while working alone or with a team.
  • Ability to trace electrical circuity and troubleshoot / replace / repair components
  • Ability to read and interpret various documentation and drawings for electrical, electronic, instrumentation and process related equipment, including isometric drawings, schematics and P&ID’s
  • Working knowledge of ABB Totalflow Flow, Fisher ROC, ScadaPac, / RTU systems, PLCs and measurement equipment
  • Working knowledge of industry standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, Hart and standard I/O
  • Familiar with wireless radio networks and equipment, cellular data modems and terrestrial satellite uplink/downlink stations
  • Experienced with optimizing digital antenna positions to optimize signal strength and communications uptime.


 Scope and Magnitude: Tests, calibrates, operates, maintains, and inspects electronic and mechanical flow meters and obtain gas samples. Communicate at a technical level and interface with customers, measurement, operations, and engineering groups. Assist in field and/or pipeline operations and maintenance functions. Utilize basic computer skills to use e-mail, meter test and data collection software and hardware, and complete electronic reports. Primary Responsibilities: • Install, configure, troubleshoot, operate, maintain, inspect, test, and calibrate electronic flow meters, associated measurement and communications equipment, control and relief valves. • Witness testing and calibration meters. • Collect gas samples. • Maintain typical pipeline equipment, basic measurement equipment, valves, etc. • Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of pipeline facilities in accordance with customer procedures/policies and DOT regulations. • Must complete applicable reporting and documentation of key operating parameters. • Must have people skills and task prioritizing skills. Key Essential Qualifications: Education, Experience and Skills Required: • High School Diploma or Equivalent. • Valid Driver’s License. • Must speak and read English fluently. • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and is subject to random DOT drug testing. • Must be capable of physical duties in outdoor environment. Mental and Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, talk, smell and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds. Work Environment: An employee in this job is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, often exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and has a risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.



  • SafeLand Certified
  • Experience in Construction site safety (required)
  • Knowledgeable in Construction Safety
  • First Aid and CPR Certified
  • 3 plus years in safety experience
  • Computer skills
